The body is really an amazing machine and in order for it to run properly, you need to make sure you are putting the right kind of fuel into it on a regular basis. There are three basic types of things that we can eat, protein, carbohydrates and fats. In among these various types of foods, there are going to be good items that we can take in and bad items. Since many people that are interested in our health are focused on protein, having a source of pure protein bars seems like it would be a healthy utopia. The truth of the matter, however, might surprise you.
First of all, the body needs more than protein in order to build itself up effectively. They only reason why you should be taking in these pure bars of protein is if you are on a low carbohydrate diet and are trying to metabolize fat through ketosis. Unfortunately, this is a very unhealthy way for you to go about weight loss and it would be better for you to eat a balanced protein bar that also contains the right amount of carbohydrates and healthy fats. Regardless, it can make an easy meal replacement that is not the ultimate solution but it is better than grabbing some fast food from one of the local fast food restaurants.
Two of the reasons why these protein bars may not be good for you are because they are dead food, having been processed to the point where the enzymes inside of them have been destroyed and the body cannot assimilate protein directly anyway. Eating protein causes the body to break it down into its various amino acids and then it can be absorbed into the body. This is something that far too many people overlook, and at times, it may be a good idea for you to cut out the middleman.
Eating a protein bar that actually contains very little protein because it has greens and other vegan items which are already in the enzymes state is an excellent choice, because it will give your body what it needs directly so that it can grow. Believe it or not, it is possible for you to get large muscles without ever eating a single bite of meat or chewing on protein bars every day. After all, cows are some of the biggest animals in the world and they eat grass.
That being said, there may be times whenever it is a good idea for you to keep some protein bars with you. Instead of having the pure bars of protein available, however, make sure that they are a healthy mixture of protein, carbohydrates and fats. In doing so, you will be better able to give your body what it needs to sustain it and help it to grow for the long term.
